I left it plugged in for a while, then unplugged and powered up again, still hear static so guess takes charge Edo-Aire PRT-551 portable Airband transceiver rt-551 set may or not work properly. I plugged it in an electric outlet, turned the volume knob up and heard some static. We lack the knowledge ability to test this item.
